Victorian Junior Road Performance ProgramThe Cycling Victoria endurance cycling program is designed to help Victorian based and licensed J17 riders develop their talents to perform at the Australian Road Championships. The program is designed to assist selected first and second year J17 Road riders. The following projects will be run under the endurance program. J17 Invited Riders Invitations will be determined by the program coach and will be approved by the Development and Coaching Commission. A mix of first and second year riders will be selected to take part in the program. Cycling legend heads Melbourne Madison line-upDutch six day cycling legend and Tour de France stage winner Leon Van Bon heads a top international field for next month’s Melbourne Madison at Joe Ciavola Velodrome. Van Bon is one of 11 overseas cyclists heading to Melbourne in preparation for the coming world track championships. The internationals also include Germans Leif Lampater, Christian Grasmann and Marcel Barth, Swiss stars Franco Marvulli and Michael Alborn and Andreas Müller of Austria, as well as New Zealanders Shane Archbold, Myron Simpson, Alex Frame and Pieter Bullings. Van Bon, was a silver medallist in the Points race at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992 and had his first race as a professional in 1998. The Madison field will also have a strong Australian representation, including Scott and Jackson Law, Caleb Ewan, Miles Scotson, Robbie McCarthy, Sean Finning, George Tansley, Ed Bissaker, Luke Davison, Evan Hull and Jack Cummings. The Melbourne Madison program will also feature the Sid Patterson Grand Prix and other support races

AustCycle - Teacher Accreditation Course - March 3-4Upcoming Course March 3-4 AustCycle is pleased to announce a new AustCycle Teacher Accreditation Program course will be held in Melbourne (VIC) on Sat 3 – Sun 4 March. AustCycle is implementing a national cycling education strategy and as such are holding training courses to assist community instructors/teachers gain national accreditation in training the community in cycle education. Places on the AustCycle Teacher Accreditation Program course in Melbourne (3-4 March) are strictly limited. Course Application form attached. To secure your place on course, please return the Course Application form as soon as possible. In order to become an accredited AustCycle Teacher, the following supporting documentation needs to be supplied (pre-course – preferably or promptly post-course):
· Current "Working With Children Check" · Current First Aid qualification · ONE of the following certificates: Beginning Coaching General Principles course (refer to note below) OR Level 1 Coach Accreditation (recognised by NCAS) OR CycleSkill Coach Accreditation OR Registered School Teacher with a Bachelor of Education (or equivalent School Teacher university qualification) Note: The Beginning Coaching General Principles course is a free online course provided by the Australian Sports Commission. This short course can be access and completed online.
