Wheel Regulations
CA/UCI WHEEL REGULATIONS
The rule below applies to all U/19, U/23, Masters and Elite licence holders.
Commissaries will be enforcing all wheel regulations as they pertain to massed start road races from July 1, 2003. From a practical perspective this means that only certain wheels will be allowed to be used in massed start races (road races and criteriums), which includes the Kowalski Canberra Junior Tour 4-6th July. The below approved list has been taken from the UCI website and indicates wheels that will be allowed to be used in massed start road races.
If your wheels are NOT found in the below list then they must be within the following specifications as set down by the UCI.
1. Have at least 16 metal spokes AND
2. The spokes may be round, flat or oval, provided that no dimension of their cross sections exceeds 2.4 mm.
