Cycling Victoria and the Alpine Cycling Club would like to thank everyone for the huge response to the 2012 Tour of Bright.  

After such unexpected and unprecedented support we have taken on many of the suggestions for the 2013 event and are pleased to announce the following changes to entries will be in place.

Entry spots will be reserved in each of the grades as follows:
•  A Grade (Men & Women): Top 3 teams and  the General Classification winning riders  team (if not in the Top 3).
•  All other categories: Top 20 General Classification riders + Top 3 Sprint Competition + Top 3 KOM Competition

Entries for these categories will open in early September 2013 with each of these individual/team will be given 1 week to provide their entry if they choose to enter.  If a rider chooses not to enter this spot will be opened up to general entry.  For all other entrants a ballot will be open for 1 week for those who did not receive automatic entry.  A random draw will be taken with set numbers within each grade.  In addition CV will launch a State Series of Road Races for all categories in 2013 in which each of the Top 20 will receive qualifying spots for the Tour of Bright. 

Finally, a Gran Fondo will be run at next year’s Tour of Bright to provide those who did not get an opportunity to race or who are simply looking to take part in the weekends festivities.  Full details of the State Series and Gran Fondo will be released later in 2013.
