2010 VSCC Gippsland Zone Final Report

Zone Final: Gippsland

Location/Venue: Wonthaggi Recreation Reserve
Comments/Highlights: Wonthaggi turned on a bright sunny day for the Gippsland Zone Final. Schools like St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School and Lavalla College arrived early to set up their marquees and the kids began to ride around the circuit in preparation for a day filled of fantastic racing. A huge thank you must go to those schools, teachers and parents alike for making the day a brilliant success. Karin Jones for providing the UCI Road World Championship van which proved to be a great back-drop for presentation and also for supplying competitors with a showbag which contained a drink bottle and UCI pin among other things. All boys and girls raced in great spirit and we saw some great battles out on the track, however Jarryd Jones’ win in the Male Under19 Racing category was one to remember.
