Cyclesport Victoria

This past weekend, DISC was host to some of Victoria's best young track cyclists as they contested the 2010 Victorian Junior Track Championships.

Presented by CycleSport Victoria, over 100 juniors in the J15 and J17 categories competed in the sprint, time trial, scratch, pursuit and points events, with some great performances seen across the two days.

The Bendigo duo of Imogen Jelbart (JW17) and Braden Dean (JM15) were unstoppable as they collected all four gold medals in the four events in which they competed - sprint, time trial, scratch and pursuit. 

It was a clean sweep for Bendigo in the JW17 events with Antonia Abbisogni claiming the points event, whilst Jack Hickey (Carnegie Caulfield CC) claimed the same event in the JM15.

In the JM17 events, Evan Hull (Carnegie Caulfield CC) won the scratch and time trial, whilst Jack Cummings (Carnegie Caulfield CC) took pursuit and points gold.  Emerson Harwood (Blackburn CC) won the sprint. 

Courtney Field (Carnegie Caulfield CC) claimed three gold in the JW15 scratch, sprint and points, with Emma Bilston (Ballarat/Sebastopol CC) winning the pursuit and Emily Apolito (Blackburn CC) taking the honours in the time trial.  

CycleSport Victoria would like to congratulate all cyclists who took part in the championships, and all those who volunteered over the two days to make the championships a great success.

The Victorian Junior Track team that will compete at the Australian Junior Championships, also to be held on DISC in March, will be announced shortly on this website.
