In May 2009, the Marysville Lake Mountain Fire Relief Ride attracted 1,529 cycling enthusiasts and with $25 from each entry donated to the Victorian Bushfire appeal, a total of $38,225 was raised.

This much needed money gave local towns so badly affected by the Black Saturday Bushfires a great opportunity to rebuild.  

With overwhelming support behind this great cause in 2009, we endeavor to make the Ventou Marysville Lake Mountain Challenge even bigger and better in 2010.

To be held on Saturday 20 February 2010, the Challenge will see the introduction of the newly designed 35km short course with an option to further challenge yourself and add the climb and descent down Lake Mountain.

Those looking for the ultimate challenge can tackle the 120km Long Course with the option to add the additional Lake Mountain section to make a 160km course. Both courses feature a combination of flat sections, rolling hills and challenging climbs perfectly designed to provide you with the chance to strive to achieve your personal goals.   

The ride passes through Buxton, Taggerty, Alexandra, Eildon, Thornton, Narbethong and Marysville.  Many of these towns have been badly affected by the tragic Black Saturday bushfires. 

The event will provide many local community groups with a much needed opportunity to raise funds to support their recovery projects.
