Spectator Code of Behaviour

Cycling is a sport that can invoke great passion.  It is also a sport that prides itself on its inclusiveness and its participation by all age groups.  In order to better foster and encourage our athletes, we require spectators at any activity staged or sanctioned by Cycling Victoria or a member club to comply with this Code of Behaviour.

A Failure to comply with the Code of Behaviour may lead to eviction from the venue, without refund, and the possibility of being banned from attending future events.

To that end all Spectators MUST:

1.                  NEVER:

(a)          use violence in any form towards another person including fellow spectators or participants.

(b)          ridicule or scold a child for making a mistake or not competing to expectation

(c)           discriminate, harass or abuse any person;

(d)          use obscene or offensive language and/or gestures;

(e)          incite hatred;

(f)           enter on the Track, the Track Centre, or the Competitor/Officials area without proper authority;

(g)          engage in disorderly conduct or conduct that may injure the reputation and goodwill of CV and cycling in general;

(h)          Do or attempt to do anything that will affect the outcome of the race on its merits.

2.                  RESPECT:

(a)          the decisions of Officials and encourage children to do the same;

(b)          the rights, dignity and worth of every person regardless of their gender, ability, race, colour, religion, language, politics, national or ethnic origin.

3.                  COMPLY with all Venue Conditions of Entry.
