About the Geelong World Cup Challenge

The Geelong World Cup Challenge is an exciting new recreational ride held in conjunction with the 2008 UCI Women’s World Cup and is the first event on the Cyclo Sportif Victoria recreational ride calendar for 2008.

Held on Sunday February 24 on a picturesque and challenging 80km course, the ride is sure to provide the perfect opportunity to push yourself to achieve your personal goals.

Or if you are looking for a more relaxed ride, then the Geelong Advertiser Family Fun Ride might be more for you!  You can just roll along and enjoy the scenery with family and friends.  The choice is yours!

The ride will commence on the Geelong Waterfront at the official start line of the UCI Women’s World Cup event to be held later that day.  Riders will experience the UCI Women’s World Cup circuit before heading out of town and taking in the picturesque areas of Freshwater Creek, Bellbrae, Jan Juc, Torquay and Breamlea.

The course then brings riders back into Geelong where the riders will have the thrill of crossing the official UCI Women’s World Cup finishing line as they are cheered home by the building crowd awaiting the World Cup event.

Riders are then invited to enjoy the free family activities taking place at the finish line before watching the worlds best female cyclists battle it out in the UCI Women’s World Cup.

A great day of cycling and fun for the whole family!
